My research question is "How do I become a producer of sports documentaries?".
As I posted previously, my main areas of interest are those of adapting plays for films and producing sports documentaries.
I particularly want to go into the area of sports documentaries as I find them interesting and exciting. The best documentaries feature subjects that are emotional and which often highlight the capacity for human endurance and the achievements that people experience. In sports documentaries there is the potential to show and tell the stories of people who are dedicated, sometimes obsessed by their chosen sport and who show determination to achieve. This can be a very powerful experience to share with an audience. The character can become heroic for even attempting a feat. Even if they don't win, showing the hard work and determination, and the struggles that the characters go through can be emotionally powerful and engage the subject with the viewer.
When told well, as in the case of such sporting documentaries as Living with Lions and Senna, the films can become a really captivating journey telling an exciting story.
